My hero William Shatner is definitely jousting with Craig Ferguson. Ferguson always manages to get Bill a bit riled up.

They are playing "what's in the box" for the "big cash prize", and of course, Shatner won the 50 bucks.

I don't know what it is about Bill Shatner that I like so much. He's such an interesting, animated character, and he pops up everywhere. Just two nights ago I watched a movie he did called "The Captains" where he interviewed all the actors who played starship captains, and they reflected on the experience, but I'll leave that for a separate post.

So I guess William Shatner has a new one man show on Broadway that will open Feb. 16, 2012 at the Music Box Theater. The show will run for two and a half weeks and then he's taking it on tour.

He didn't go into too much detail but in the show he tells stories about life, love, adventure, music, horses etc., in a way that will be funny and entertaining, and that only he could do.

They also spoke briefly about a new Priceline commercial I haven't seen yet, where supposedly Shatner dies handing a woman hotel reservations. We'll wait and see what that's all about.

If you missed the show you can go to the CBS site the next day and watch previous shows. I don't know how long they keep them up.

That's about it fellow Shatner fans. I'll do a post later on about that movie I mentioned earlier.

Live long and prosper Denny Crane!

William Shatner has to be one of the busiest guys in showbiz. I've been a fan of Raw Nerve for a while now, and just recently discovered another new Shatner show. "Aftermath" on the bio channel.

"Aftermath" is another sit down interview show with William Shatner doing the interviewing, which by the way he seems pretty good at. The show takes an in-depth look at what happens to people who go from unknown average citizens to household names because of tragic or infamous events.

Shatner gets to the heart of the matter, interviewing the heroes, villains and victims of events we all witnessed at the time through the multitude of news outlets. He explores what really happened from their point of view and how the events have changed and transformed their lives into what they are now.

"Aftermath" has already aired a couple of episodes as far as I know including the D.C. sniper victims and Bernard Goetz. You can catch replays and previews of upcoming episodes at www.biography.com.

This week William Shatner sits down with Mary Kay Letourneau and next week he interviews former POW Jessica Lynch. The show airs Monday nights at 10/9 central, with repeats throughout the week on the bio channel.
So William Shatner is at it again. He's set to star in a new comedy TV pilot for CBS. The show is being produced by the creators of "Will and Grace".

It's based on the Twitter page "Shit My Dad Says" that Justin Halpern put up to showcase the foul mouthed, funny stuff that comes out of his dad's mouth. The 29 year old Halpern came up with the idea after being forced to move back in with his parents. His 74 year old father Sam Halpern, who used to work in nuclear medicine at the University of California at San Diego, never fails to deliver. For example, take this post from March 22nd: "Don't ask for my opinion then. I said congrats on the car, just saying nobody's panties are getting wet from a f#cking Honda Accord." or this one from April 16th: "I’m not sure you can call that roughing it, son… Well, for one, there was a f#cking minivan parked forty feet from your sleeping bags.” The Twitter page has over a million followers.

The younger Halpern, who is co-writing the script, says it may not be quite as harsh as the actual Twitter page but more along the lines of "Stuff My Dad Says" or "Papa the Potty Mouth". Shatner is set to play the role of Sam Halpern.

After years of watching Boston Legal, William Shatner's curmudgeonly but lovable portrayal of mad cow laden Denny Crane has become engrained in my psyche, so it will be nice to see him in a different role. This character promises to be a little more rough around the edges. Still, it's hard to know whether a show based on a bunch of Twitter post one liners will translate into comedy sitcom success for William Shatner and CBS.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
